About PATCHLATCH.COM
Having a few years of umpiring under my belt, I still remember starting out having to buy several shirts for different associations. Having to sew the patches on every year on every shirt only to have to cut them off at the end of the season. I thought there has to be a better way. I tried the Velcro but found you still had to sew it on which was very difficult. After trial, error and testing I came up with the Patch Latch. This is the easiest and most economical way to hold your association patches on your shirts. It’s made from polycarbonate (which is the same material used in safety glasses) which makes it very heat and impact resistant.
With Patch Latch you apply your association patch with a bead of flexible silicone (found at any hardware store) around the edge and a dab in the center, press your patch on and in no time you are ready to go. You can hold one patch on each side. When done umpiring for the day, remove the Patch Latch, throw it in your truck or bag and you’re ready to wash your shirts without any worry about fading or fraying of your association patches. When the season is done, you can remove your association patches by just peeling them off like a sticker.
